Today we met very early at Plaza Italia to meet our bus for our four hour trip to Pamplona. We mostly slept on the bus and listened to music until we arrived at our hotel around 11:30 a.m. We were given free time to get lunch and shop before going into the city of Pamplona for our three hour walking tour. The tour was filled with history and interesting facts about the city, mostly about their world renowned tradition of the running of the bulls, which originated in the city of Pamplona. We visited the beautiful Cathedral of Santa María and took a tour through the church. We were able to visit the Plaza de Toros de Pamplona, where the running of the bulls ends and the bull fights are held. The stadium holds 19,720 spectators, the fourth largest in Spain. We had a very knowledgable guide who took us through the whole process of the running and fighting of the bulls. It's a grand tradition in Spain and I learned a lot about the tradition and why it means so much to the people of Pamplona. We then had dinner together at the hotel and went to bed to prepare for our day in San Sebastián.
